Duke Nukem Forever has finally gone gold

This is it folks, one of the most anticipated and most delayed game in history has finally gone gold. A gold master disc has been made and is currently making mass copies of this long-awaited epic. 14 years in development and countless delays, Duke Nukem is coming.

Duke Nukem Forever and its journey to store shelves is legendary,” said George Broussard, creative director at 3D Realms. “It’s an epic tale of four game development studios that banded together and did the unthinkable and shipped the unshipppable. When you play this game you will be reminded of that epic journey at every turn and in every small detail of the game. The character, attitude, interactivity, gameplay and political incorrectness combine to make a Duke Nukem game a unique gaming experience. In the timeless words of Duke Nukem it’s finally time to ‘Come Get Some’. Come be a part of gaming history.”

The latest delay for this game was on March when Gearbox Software moved the release date from May 3 to June 10 making a lot of gamers rage since it was so close to release. Well nothing can stop it now and all we have to do is wait a few more days to get your hands on Duke Nukem Forever.

If you can’t wait to get a piece of Duke Nukem and you bought the Borderlands Game of the Year copy, you can get the game demo on June 3. I’m sure you’ve entered the first access club provided by the Borderlands GOTY, so all you have to do is wait for an email from Gearbox asking what platform you prefer for the demo.

Duke Nukem forever is finally coming out on June 10 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.

Despite the early bad reviews I still purchased this game. I really don’t understand most of the bad press. I’ve been enjoying the game quite a bit. It has a good mix of modern gameplay and old school shooters. The puzzles are a nice change to me anyway. I like using my brain to work through the obstacles. At the same time I find the adult themes and toilet humor fun. It runs very well on my PC with all the graphic options cranked up. The time for it to be considered a revolutionary game may have passed , but it’s still very fun.
