L.A. Noire Update: Selected for Tribeca Film Festival

A small update but an update none the less.

Rockstar just tweeted this;

L.A. Noire Fact: 90% of downtown LA’s buildings and signage were recreated for the game, with design and typography faithful to advertising of the period.

And now on to bigger news.

From Elder-Geek;

Another step forward for the industry’s repute among film nerds, Rockstar’s L.A. Noire has become an official selection of the Tribeca Film Festival (a New York-based film meet started by Robert De Niro in 2002). As part of being an official selection of the event, some of the staff of Rockstar will present an interactive screening of one of the game’s many crime cases, followed by a Q&A session, on April 25th in New York.

“We’re thrilled that L.A. Noire is being recognized by the Tribeca Film Festival in this way,” said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. “It’s a real honor, and another step forward for interactive entertainment.”

“What Rockstar and Team Bondi have accomplished with L.A. Noire is nothing less than groundbreaking,” said Geoff Gilmore from the Tribeca Film Festival. “It’s an invention of a new realm of storytelling that is part cinema, part gaming, and a whole new realm of narrative expression, interactivity, and immersion. We are poised on the edge of a new frontier.”
